This fine antique silk rug is partly perished and has been stabilised onto a green linen mount. Split parts of the rug have been sewn down. It is not recommended to use this rug on the floor unless a placed in a room infrequently used such as a bedroom. The rug is definitely compromised and could probably do with some additional conservation stitching to the existing green support. The worst sections are at each end.
